World Prayer Beads was founded by me Chris Overholt during the 2020 Pandemic to provide an additional source of income for our family and to make our Beautiful Bracelets and Malas available to more people. We have been selling wholesale to stores for 25 years.
I came up with the idea to start selling Bracelets and Malas while living & working in Nepal and South Korea and travelling in India in 1996 to 1998. I was drawn to Nepali & Indian Malas and traditional arts and the beautiful Korean Cedar Prayer Beads, ceramics, incense and other items.
Over the years we have carried many different arts and crafts, however our Prayer Beads have always been one of our most popular items. I found on my trips to Asia that there were many more Prayer Beads available than seen in the US, so we decided to focus solely on Prayer Beads & Malas.
My vision is to have the largest selection of Prayer Beads available in one place and definitely the largest selection of unusual Prayer Beads. We carry not only common Prayer Beads, but many unique and hard to find Malas & Prayer Bracelets, such as Dragon Blood Wood, Purpleheart Wood, Yew Wood, Gold Sheen Obsidian and the largest selection of fragrant woods such as Cedar, Cypress and Tiger Aloeswood.
We also carry a wide range of styles including Prayer Bracelets, Beaded Bracelets, Non-Stretchy 108 Malas, Knotted 108 Malas, Stretchy 108 Malas, Hand Malas, Adjustable Prayer Bracelets and more. We carry varying sizes such as 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, 12mm. We currently have about 100 different Wrist & 108 Malas that no other supplier carries. We have also been told that our quality is higher than many other suppliers.
